Disaster Recovery Summit 2025: Crisis Management and Collaboration

A Successful Summit:
Embracing Crisis Management
We are excited to announce that our 2025 Disaster Recovery Summit was a resounding success! This year, the overarching theme of “Crisis Management” was creatively displayed through a superhero motif, enabling industry professionals to engage in strategic planning sessions. The goal was to develop proactive ways to combat the impact of disasters, ensuring businesses can effectively recover and maintain operational continuity.

Key Focus Areas for Discussion
To comprehensively emphasize the summit’s theme, we structured discussions around four critical subcategories for our attendees:
• How to manage in a crisis
• Understanding the risks and pressures of potential failure
• Effectively managing labor and manpower during a crisis
• Addressing mental health and safety concerns in disaster scenarios
Fostering Collaboration for Resilience
This impactful two-day event successfully brought together Miller Electric employees, valued clients, trusted vendors, and esteemed NECA partners. Participants collaboratively workshopped best practices designed to help mitigate the effects of disaster and enable businesses to thrive even during times of uncertainty. Our unwavering intent is to consistently challenge ourselves, our clients, and our partners. As James MacDonald, Group President, eloquently stated, “This is a true partnership for a common goal when disaster strikes. The only way to be better is to challenge one another to grow.”
Summit Highlights: Day 1 and Day 2
On Wednesday, June 4th, our organization had the distinct pleasure of hosting partners and esteemed sponsors at our headquarters in Jacksonville, FL, for a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Summit. Attendees were provided with the valuable opportunity to engage with insightful presentations and participate actively in collaborative breakout sessions. These sessions were designed to facilitate hands-on workshops, enabling participants to develop actionable strategies for their contributions to disaster recovery efforts.
The summit continued on Thursday at the Jacksonville Marriott, where an assembly of distinguished panelists shared their invaluable experiences and perspectives on prior disaster recovery operations. We were particularly honored to welcome members of the original disaster recovery team, who provided a historical context and compelling demonstration of the significant evolution and progress of this crucial initiative over time.
Looking Ahead:
A Collective Commitment to Preparedness
This summit underscored our collective commitment to strengthening resilience and preparedness in the face of unforeseen challenges. By fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, we are confident that the insights gained and connections forged during these two days will significantly enhance our collective capacity to respond effectively to future disaster scenarios, safeguarding communities and vital infrastructure.
