Another Successful Community Week at Miller Electric!
At Miller Electric, giving back to the community is a cornerstone of who we are—but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a lot of fun doing it! Our annual Community Week is a beloved tradition that brings our employees together to make a meaningful impact, strengthen our collective commitment to service, and enjoy some spirited internal competition. This weeklong event gives every team member an opportunity to get involved, support local organizations, and pledge to make a real difference.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from our fantastic 2025 Community Week.
Caring and Commitment: Giving Back
United Way Kickoff Lunch: We launched the week and our United Way Giving Campaign on Monday. Team members gathered for an inspiring lunch and learned firsthand from United Way representatives how their donations directly support local families in need. What a powerful way to start our week of giving!
Letters to the Children at Ronald McDonald House: On Tuesday, employees took a few quiet moments to spread kindness by writing heartfelt letters to children staying at the Ronald McDonald House. These simple messages of encouragement offered hope and comfort to families facing challenging times, reminding us all of the power of caring words.
Trick-or-Treat with Local Students: We wrapped up the week with a truly heartwarming event on Friday, welcoming 70 trick-or-treaters from Jacksonville School for Autism and Guardian Catholic School to our headquarters! For many of these children, this is their only chance to celebrate Halloween—and our team made sure it was a day full of joy, huge smiles, and overflowing candy bags!
Sweet Victories and Hallway Wonders: The Contests
The week also featured some epic battles for bragging rights and prizes!
The Chili Cook-Off Champion! Things heated up on Thursday at our annual Chili Cook-Off! From classic recipes to creative twists, our talented chili chefs brought their best to the table. After an intense round of tasting and voting, we crowned HR & Risk Coordinator Toni McGee as this year’s undisputed Chili Cook-Off Champion!
The Sweetest Guess: Wednesday brought some lighthearted fun with our Candy Jar Guessing Game. The jar held exactly 135 pieces, and in a dazzling display of estimation, the winner was Project Manager Marty Snipes, who guessed an astonishingly close 134!
Hallway Decorating Showdown: The annual hallway decorating contest was another amazing treat! The creativity was off the charts, but after careful deliberation, we had a rare and exciting tie for the Best Overall Hallway! Congratulations to the Accounting team for their vibrant Fall Pumpkin Patch and the Healthcare team for their high-octane Nascar hall!
Community Week is a reminder that together, we can create meaningful change; whether through volunteering, donations, or simply showing kindness. Thank you to everyone of our team members who participated and helped make this week such a success. Their enthusiasm and generosity continue to make Miller Electric a company that truly powers what’s possible, both in our industry and in our community.
