Group President Spotlight: James MacDonald, Group President
James MacDonald, a Jacksonville native, brings over three decades of dedicated experience in the electrical construction industry, all with Miller Electric Company. His career began as a helper while he completed the rigorous 5-year IBEW National Joint Apprenticeship Program. A Master Electrician holding an Electrical Contractor license in Florida, James quickly advanced, serving in various key roles including Service Technician, Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Vice President of Corporate Services, and Executive Vice President for Commercial, Service, Technology Solutions, and Regional Operations.
Driving Operational Excellence and Regional Growth
During his role as Executive Vice President for Commercial, Service, Technology Solutions, and Regional Operations, James continued his leadership over the Jacksonville Service Group, Disaster Recovery Team, and Southeast Regional Offices. He was also responsible for implementing consistent processes across all of Miller Electric’s services and branch operations. Under his guidance, the company became the recognized leader in disaster recovery and power restoration for major corporate clients nationwide, with his team consistently delivering impressive revenue and margin growth in the Florida and Georgia branch offices. Additionally, James spearheaded the success of various key divisions, including:

Innovation in Facility Solutions
Today, as Group President of Facility Solutions, James is dedicated to leading his team in providing exceptional value to clients and the organization. His focus is on developing innovative, scalable, and repeatable services within the facilities management sector. Beyond his role at Miller Electric, James is an active contributor to the industry, currently serving as Chair for Electri’s 2025-2026 term and as a past Governor of the Central Florida NECA chapter.
Community and Family Man
Outside of work, James is married to his beautiful wife Amanda and he is the proud father to his son, Austin, and daughter, Arden, and grandfather to his grandchildren, Camden and Greyson who lovingly call him HAP. He values time with his family, often enjoying beach vacations and water sports. He’s also passionate about working out, hunting, and fishing. A longtime member of Rotary, James truly embodies Miller Electric’s core value of community by dedicating his time to help those in need.
