Did you know that Miller Electric Company does work in the water industry? We are partnering with Walsh Group’s Archer Western on the progressive design-build construction related to the rehabilitation and expansion of Pasco and Hillsborough Counties’ wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) services. This enables us to operate with a complete turnkey construction team with the local counties and various facilities around Tampa Bay. “It is our intention to provide any and all electrical/system support and services for all facilities, utilizing our key manufacturers and vendors to support these facilities for their long-term success,” said Jeremy Chambers, a senior project manager at Miller.

This year, Miller and Archer Western also partnered as a gold sponsor for the Water For People fundraiser organized by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

For eight years, this networking event has brought together a significant number of industry leaders united by their goal of expanding clean water access worldwide. The event is growing and gaining in popularity, and AWWA expected this to be their largest and most successful year yet, with over 200 industry leaders in attendance. The AWWA state on their website that they are “an international, scientific, and educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a better world through water. AWWA’s membership includes utility leaders, experts in water technology and finance, and U.S. water and water system operators.”

Beneath the exposed beams and tall windows of the historic Tampa Firefighters Museum, host of this year’s event, Jeremy connected with Archer Western and other groups/sponsors with the same interest in helping bring clean water to their community. Surrounded by so many design and engineering firms, as well as experts in the industry, Jeremy had the unique opportunity to learn firsthand about upcoming projects in Pasco and Hillsborough County, as well as other funding for future water infrastructure projects.

“These WWTP facilities in Pasco and Hillsborough are critical to the county’s infrastructure growth and expansion,” said Jeremy. “Currently, we are also in discussions with Hillsborough County in partnership with Archer Western for a project listed as the Central Advanced Wastewater Treatment.”

Miller is eyeing more water infrastructure projects in the future. This week, Miller and Archer Western discussed the future Wesley Chapel (Pasco County) WWTP improvements with county representatives.

Here are some of the water projects Miller has completed. Let us know if you’re interested in teaming up with us on your next water project!
