by | Feb 21, 2014 | Project Highlights

The Miller Healthcare Group is wrapping up a very exciting project in Jacksonville that has highlighted our expertise in doing large projects. The J Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Tower is in the last stages of construction and when completed, will have 338,000 square feet of space contained in a beautiful $200 million 11 story building.

This new facility is a part of the Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson’s Children Hospital and features state-of-the-art surgical suites with intra-operative CT and MRI imaging capabilities which is one of the first of it’s kind in North America.

Besides the seven operating suites, this building contains a Dialysis department, Behavioral Heath Center, Adult and Pediatric PACU, 24 Pediatric ICU rooms, 24 Pediatric patient beds, 96 adult patient beds, 12 adult ICU rooms and all of the associated supporting offices, storage, housekeeping, administrative and electrical/mechanical rooms.

Our team installed all of the electrical systems including medium voltage, normal power and the critical and life safety systems. Project Manager Brian Seay headed a dynamic management team consisting of Assistant Project Managers John Moody and Mike Cannady, Superintendent Stephen South and Foremen Daniel Fouracker, Ed Scholl and Mike Rolison.

Additionally, we also installed the Data, Telephone, Security camera’s (CCTV), CATV, Patient Monitoring, Access Control, Wireless Sprint, Paging, Wireless Access Points and the Hill-Rom nurse call system. The systems were managed
by Assistant Project Manager Fred Sweat, Superintendent Darryl Cushman and Foreman Ryan Smith. Miller Electric has all of the in-house expertise and technology to install these complicated systems in a demanding construction environment.

Started in 2010, a total of 86 Miller Electric employees worked on this facility where we leveraged the use of prefab electrical assemblies, manpower ratios and out-of-the-box logistics planning to maximize our production and efficiency.
Congratulations go to the entire Miller Team for your hard work and dedication in completing another very successful project.
