Creating a Safer Work Environment with Code Compliance

by | Aug 24, 2018 | Industry Info

NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, is the NFPA document that addresses smoke alarms. In addition to the core focus on fire alarm systems, the Code includes requirements for mass notification systems used for weather emergencies; terrorist events; biological, chemical, and nuclear emergencies; and other threats.

With a growing awareness and commitment to creating a safer work environment, there is an immediate demand for a mass notification system that meets the Code NFPA 72.

Miller partners with Lencore

We partner with Lencore because they offer the only UL2572 sound masking and mass notification system in the market today that can be integrated with the fire alarm system.

This integration is critical because of the code’s requirement that all ambient background noise must be muted in the case of an emergency. This new system seamlessly shuts down all sound; enabling life saving communication that can be seen and heard clearly.

As an industry leader in engineered system solutions for Sound Masking, Paging & Audio and Mass Notification and Emergency Communications (MNEC) applications, the partnership between Lencore and Miller Electric Company ensures that it is possible to create a safer workplace.
