Miller Electric Company has been installing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) since 1996. ITS is a fast evolving field that is integral in the relief of traffic congestion and government transportation budgets. ITS involves the use of technology to ease traffic congestion and improve traffic flow without adding additional traffic lanes. Miller Electric has held significant prime contracts for construction of ITS, including a significant number of large design-build project. These projects encompass the installation of 500 plus CCTV assemblies and close to 150 Dynamic Message Signs, Highway Advisory Radios, Roadway Weather Information Systems and 1,300 Vehicle Detector Systems. The supporting infrastructure includes the required power services, HUB switching stations, over 500 miles of fiber optic backbone and nearly 400 miles of wireless mobile VoIP subsystems.

Our broad range of signalization experience includes the installation of mast arm and span wire signalization, the installation of Type F, Type B, Type 2, and optical detectors, interconnected systems (fiber optic) and stand alone signals, and TS2, Type 1 controller installation and integration. Work is performed according to state standard specifications and local government requirements. The majority of Miller’s recent signalization experience is as a subcontractor on large roadway projects; however, Miller Electric is also experienced as a prime contractor for intersection signalization systems. We currently have five International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certified Signal Inspectors, who are also IMSA Level II Signal Technicians, an additional two IMSA Level II Signal Technicians, and one Level III IMSA Signal Tech.
