OUTSTANDING FIELD SUPERVISOR

by | Feb 21, 2014 | Company Updates

Miller Electric Company has had many great employees in our 84 year history but a few really stand out as real leaders and without a doubt, Buddy Rainey is one of them. Buddy has consistently performed at the highest level of professionalism and quality.

Charlotte Project Manager Chip Gay and Branch Manager Kevin Hebert recommended Buddy to receive recognition for his continued distinguished service to Miller Electric Company Not only is Buddy an outstanding employee, but he has gone above and beyond in performing his job out of town for several years doing projects in Charlotte, Richmond, Atlanta, Pennsylvania and Ft Lauderdale. He has spent a lot of time away from home and family and this deserves a note of thanks from the Miller family. Buddy has recently relocated his home and family to Charlotte NC to be closer to his work and clients that he primarily works for.

Having graduated from the NJATC Apprenticeship program in 2002, Buddy obtained his Journeyman Electricians license in Gainesville, Florida. He has worked for Miller Electric Company for over 6 years and during that time, he has managed several high profile projects including:

  • Peak 10 Charlotte 2 UPS Upgrade
  • Peak 10 Charlotte 3 Data Center
  • Peak 10 Atlanta 2 Data Center
  • Bank of America Data Center – Levittown Pennsylvania
  • Peak 10 Richmond 2 Data Center
  • Peak 10 Richmond 1 Global Bypass Upgrade
  • Peak 10 Richmond 1 Controls Upgrade
  • Peak 10 Ft Lauderdale 2 Data Center
  • Peak 10 Charlotte 4 Data Center

As you can see above, Buddy has specialized in the complex world of data centers which is one of the most electrically complicated environments we work in. These facilities have extensive back up power systems and redundant capabilities that far exceed most commercial buildings. This requires a lot of technical knowledge and oversight to ensure our employees are meeting the rigid installation requirements and specifications.

What makes Buddy successful is the attitude and philosophy that he brings to the project which inspires those who work for him to achieve the maximum effort and productivity. He understands that he has to know his employees and understand their strengths and leverage those talents during the construction process. Married to wife Gena for 15 years, they have a 10 year old son named Thomas. When he is not working, Buddy enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s, camping, going to the beach and playing football with his son.

Buddy credits Jacksonville Project Manager Mike Park with being a mentor and role model. Mike showed Buddy the importance of making a plan and working that plan and that you don’t have to have an answer to every question but you have to be willing to reach out to others for help sometimes. Miller Electric has a great team of Project Managers,
supervisors and electricians who all help and support each other.
